Staying the course

I am happy to say even with some small trials I have finished three of the six characters needed for one of my clients and with the exception of a monkey I am making right now they are some of the cutesiest puppets I have ever done. Just as soon as I get some approval from my client I will post up a link to the finished characters for all to see. I feel really good about these characters and think on the whole I have done some of my best work this year.

My kids are doing great. My daughter is climbing on everything she is my little squirrel and my son and I were painting a pitcher last night together. Life is good sometimes you know.

There are some auditions going on in my neck of the woods for the new NBC fall TV series called "Fathom" that has been renamed "Surface". I'm kicking around the idea of auditioning.

Saying one thing Hearing another

Well I am glade to say that the problem I was having with one of my favorite clients has been resolved. It turns out to be a just an old fashioned problem with communication. When we originally talked and set up our arrangement we both were thinking two different things. So this weekend when we finally got a chance to talk about it we (at least from my point of view) seemed to resolve the situation. I look forward to working with them in the future. On the plus side I will have some really cool puppets to show in my gallery very soon.

Give and Take

I have decided to finish some puppets for a client if it takes me staying up all night for the next week. I think all things aside these are some of the nicest characters I have ever made. Unfortunately from conversations that have past I don't feel I will have the opportunity to work with this client again. It's unfortunate because I love their designs and enjoy for the most part building them.

I recently finished a script I have been writing and we have begun casting for a film project to start shooting in about two months. I really like this story I won't go into to many details but I hope to have a website up for it soon so everyone can follow the production.

In addition I will also be starting a few internet shorts that will be coming soon to my INDY TV site. I will send a link here when they are ready. I think they will be very funny.

Money Money Money

It's days like the ones I have had over the last few weeks that make me want to stop making puppets for people all together. I have been waiting now for weeks in some cases for the remainder of money that is owed to me by several clients. In some cases I take a deposit down for materials and build the puppet then receive the remainder prior to shipping. Because of recent problems I am no longer doing that. The complete cost up front will be obtained before work can be done. I just can't afford to sit on these puppets until someone decides to pay me. In one case I shipped the puppets because they had an emergency and needed them, stupid I know but hay I like to help people. Oh well sorry to rant and rave but life is life.
